I'm just a regular working man who enjoys getting outside. I am from the mountains of North Carolina and now live in eastern Tennessee, getting outside as much as I can with my two boys. We hike, backpack, run obstacle course races, do triathlons, run half marathons, hang in our hammocks, and ride the trails. In my working life I teach history education at Athens State University and do some adjunct teaching for the history department at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I am a historian and have taught in history departments for much of my career. Until 2019. In 2019 I moved to an education department, but about half of my teaching load is still for the Athens State history department.
